Village Ice Cream
Well the winter season is upon us, what better way to feel better about this by having some Ice Cream. Fuzzy’s birthday was a couple weeks ago, it was a warm day but felt like writing this post on a cold day.
After our fantastic meal at Vintage Chophouse, we opted for a casual dessert, an Ice Cream cone not too far away. It was our first visit and taste of this amazingness that we can’t stop thinking about it, even though we are somewhat lactose intolerant. haha. Nestled in at 431 10th Ave SE, you would find this place in such an odd location, but hey, if you churn it they will come! Their story is that they try and use as many local, seasonal and organic ingredients they can. They make their ice cream batch by batch right in the shop. Not only that, the waffle cones are to die for and they make it fresh right in front of your eyes.
This day Fuzzy had the classic, Vanilla, he couldn’t get over how good it was, I wanted to try but I’m not into licking someone’s licked ice cream. I went with the older persons ice cream , the maple pecan, wow, yum! Our wives had the Toasted Coconut which they loved as well. Honestly this is some of the best ice cream we’ve had. Can’t wait to take the family from Sask this weekend. Next one I need to try is the Guide’s Mint (Girl Guide Mint Cookie!!!!)
