So I’ve been following Una Pizza + Wine on Twitter and Facebook for quite some time now. I love reading all the great comments they are getting and seeing the tweets on wait times every night. Every time I see the tweet, “seats open” I just want to hop in my car and head down there. My lawyer found out a few weeks ago that I was a big time foodie, I got an instant email from him inviting me out for lunch. First thing that popped in my mind was, lets go to Una, I need taste what all the hype was about.
So Friday afternoon for lunch we headed down to the pizzeria, found parking right away, and got a seat right away. It’s a cool little place that is longer than wide. Nice set up for the space. The menu is nice and simple with great explanations on each dish. We decided on an appy of Antipasti of buffalo mozzarella & cured coppa, pachino tomatoes & fresh arugula served with crostini ($13). Everything was great on this assortment but what stood out was the mozza and the tomatoes, absolutely delicious. As for the pizzas we decided to try on a couple, which was a basic Margherita pizza and the Prosciuttino pizza. I thought to myself, how are they going to fit two pizzas on our little table, but ahhh they have a 2 stacking pizza contraption, very smart. The yummy Margherita pizza is made with san marzano tomato sauce, fior di latte mozzarella with crushed basil ($14) and the star of the show was the Prosciuttino which was topped with san marzano tomato sauce, crisp prosciuttino, provolone piccante cheese and fresh arugula ($19). (My smart ass lawyer thinks the arugula was tarragon, shhhh don’t tell him, haha)
I can’t wait to bring my wife, friends, and family down to Una, it was truly that good. Trust me it’s worth going down for.
