Five Guys Burger and Fries

I’ve been so excited to try this place since it opened a few weeks ago. My buddy, Fuzzy, from Virgin Radio went and got to taste it a day before they opened to the public. On Tuesday, Fuzzy said “What you haven’t been there yet, let’s go NOW!”

Once I stepped through the door I was smiling, there was a big Halo over the open kitchen and I knew I was in Burger Heaven. I hopped in the long line and waited for my turn.

There are two tills running customers through. I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger “All the way”, small Cajun fries and a pop (Free refills). All their toppings are free and you can have it your way. “All the Way” means Mayo, Lettuce, Pickles, Tomatoes, Grilled Onions, Grilled Mushrooms, Ketchup, and Mustard.

So I waited patiently for about 10 mins, I’m sure it may be a little faster at slower times, but I was in the middle of the rush.  I was watching them while they prepared my order: they first put fries in my bag, then the burger, then took the fry scoop and dumped another load of fries on top!  Wow what a genius idea.

This is a straight up burger joint, burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, fries and pop, that’s all that is on the menu.  All regular burgers are doubles and the “little” burgers are the singles.  If you are allergic to peanuts stay away from this place as they cook everything in peanut oil and there are bins of peanuts for customers to eat.
