Day 7 Stampede Food Fiasco Gelato

Wow this year at the Calgary Stampede has been a hot one, best weather I’ve seen for this time of year in a long time, which makes this Day 7 blog post even more fitting.  If you don’t know what gelato is, check it out here www.fiascogelato.ca.  In short, it’s gourmet ice cream, made in small batches with the finest ingredients.  Sorry Fiasco, I know not to call it ice cream, but for the people who don’t know what it is, it’s the easiest way to describe it.

Not only is it a great treat during these hot days but they’ve had a spot for a few years on the Stampede grounds that is just perfect.  You can find them underneath the Super Dogs venue at the Big Four building, I believe it’s called the Range down there.  It’s an excellent place to sit down, cool off, enjoy some air conditioning, and Gelato.  It’s basically a food court and a great place if you have kids.

Today I had the Blood Orange, it has to be my 2nd favourite right now, number 1 for me is Salted Caramel but I wanted to change it up today.  The flavours are so intense (in a good way), tastes amazing, and super refreshing.  By the way they are one of the original food trucks around town, you can follow them on Twitter here www.twitter.com/fiascogelato
